I can't believe I'm doing this...

Updated: Feb 24, 2021

I have to say I'm a bit embarrassed about starting up a separate Instagram account and it's totally 100% weird to be creating a blog. I've admired others for taking the risk of putting themselves out there and have really always wanted to try my hand at this, but just felt really self-conscious. The idea of managing another project is pretty overwhelming and I often wonder if this is going to be worth it...or just another thing I start and abandon. (Hello...it's like I'm in Julie & Julia!)

If you land on this page and you don't know me...and have even gotten this far into reading (THANK YOU), here's a quick introduction.

In 2018, I was feeling stuck and needed some change in my life, so I took a big leap of faith and moved away from the only place I ever knew as home and settled into life as yet another Chicago transplant in Nashville. I have a small petting zoo as my family - Kipper, Penny and Tenn, and have really loved exploring my new city.

I took another MAJOR leap of faith in the train wreck that was 2020 and decided it was a time to put down some southern roots - I purchased a condo in the Nashville area and got busy planning ALL OF THE THINGS.

Well...sometimes life is funny...on move-in day, I walked into water damage, spurring unplanned conversations about repairs and renovations that I wasn't ready for.

And this is what kicked off the Instagram conversation. Friends were interested in paint colors, design, fixtures, why my double vanity was camping out in my hallway, and they encouraged me to keep a separate account so I could go crazy in posting questions about shades of greige.

I have no plans or real goals in mind for how I'd like this to go (probably not something a marketer should be admitting), but let's see where this takes me and my little fur family.
